Gould's Bend

Obed River from Overlook at HaunsThe uppermost run on the Obed River is a run through a deep, isolated gorge. This trip has a variety of rapids, some creating tight technical conditions with boulders and an occasional tree obstruction. Lookout for the undercut rock outcropping on river left downstream of Knuckle Buster, which is actually a 5ft. waterfall. The Essess is known as the toughest rapid in the Obed / Emory system.
